Contact with The Saturdays and social networking

There are many ways these days in which fans can contact their role models. As a 'Saturday's' fan myself I have researched ways in which I could contact the girl group and other recording artists.

As a start, The Saturdays currently have their own website.

The website allows fans to gather updates about the group and find out where they will be performing and when.
To the top right of the website there are links to social networking sites,

- Facebook

I logged onto my Twitter and as I was already following the girl band and I took a look at their profile. Each Saturday has their own Twitter account so it is easy for me as a fan to get updating on news and locations of The Saturdays! I believe Twitter is the most effective social networking site to contact a celebrity! Each profile is their own and they update and check it regularly.

The most effective networking site for listening to new music is Myspace! The social networking site enables fans to listen to new singles and brand new artists! If i was to contact The Saturdays I would not do this via Myspace as this is mainly for new upcoming artists.

You Tube is a very popular site for sharing videos, in the music industry artists use You Tube to display new singles and receive feedback. There are many negative things that can be passed through You Tube and recording artists only use this site for a basic impression.

Facebook is home to 30,000 users and is the biggest of the social networking sites. The Saturdays also have a Facebook page and is liked by currently 683,463 other Facebook users. The Saturdays can be contacted here by wall post or private message. I believe this is the most effective way of contacting the group!

So after exploring the ways of social networking and how to contact The Saturdays, I have concluded that the most effective way of contacting them would be via a wall post on Facebook. The comment would stand out and get many replies (most probably from other fans)
